Beef in Guinness Stew in a Crockpot recipe

A rich, flavoursome stew that cooks itself while you’re at work or out enjoying yourself for the day.
Serves: 4 – 6
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 8 – 10 hours
Ingredients:
1 kg / 2.2 lbs chuck steak
2 tbsp plain flour, seasoned with freshly ground black pepper and
sea-salt
5-6 medium carrots, peeled and cut into 6-8cm / 2-3 inch chunks
2 medium onions, peeled and quartered
2 tbsp tomato puree
2 bay leaves
1 tsp dried thyme
1 440ml tin Guinness
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation:
Trim the chuck steak and cut into 2.5cm/1 inch cubes, toss in the seasoned flour to coat.
Add the cubed chuck steak, the carrots, onions, tomato puree, crumbled bay leaves, dried thyme and the tin of Guinness to the crockpot. Stir to combine.
Cook on low for 8 – 10 hours until the meat is tender.
Serve ladled over creamed potatoes.
